VIZIO M261VP 26-Inch 1080p LED LCD HDTV with VIZIO Internet Application, Black

Let me preface my review with the following. I'm not an audiophile, and this purchase was made for a bedroom TV.
The picture quality is fantastic and amazing, I feel better than my 42in Samsung plasma. The sound is less "tinny" than the previous model, but still lack in the bass that gives it that laptop quality speaker sound even at moderate volume seems quality to sound better (at least for me), otherwise a bedroom TV, it is excellent.

WiFi is easy to set up (built and supported 128 bit encryption). I found the settings / menu system is extremely well done and easy to use with their remote control.

Tried Netflix and with only two bars WiFi (due to the distance from the router) was the picture quality is great and never "adjusted" because of signal degradation.

The controls are located on the back of the TV, making it a little difficult for the flying of power, but I like it because my 3 year old likes to push buttons. In addition to ... We have remotes, right?

The remote is somewhat cheap, but easy to use.

Vizio program loads quickly on my network (YMMV).

-. 5 not so good bass (or lack there of low vol)
-. 5 of the lack of several possible audio options menu.

You are definitely paying for the picture, built-in WiFi and Internet via audio quality with this purchase, so if you if you go into this purchase knowing this (as I did), then you should be happy and you can always connect some external speakers to improve sound quality.

We bought this to replace the 19 "LCD which was in our kitchen and we absolutely love it. It was easy to connect to the Internet (although I'm good with computers and electronics). The picture we get when Netflix streaming is awesome. The which has been over comments about how thin television is and what a good picture, it has.

Other reviewers have commented on poor sound quality, I disagree with them. I think there is room for improvement in the speakers go, but you people really expect home theater sound from a $ 400 razor-thin high-definition TV? Even the TV in my kitchen, where there is usually so much background noise and other things going on that the quality of the sound is not really a problem. Finally, no one come across has ever made a comment about sound quality, and these are friends, not visitors who are trying to be polite.

Web Apps are all great and amuse kids for hours (I just have to figure out how to block less good content, and it would be perfect). I would buy this TV again in a heartbeat.

Edit on 12/18/2010: We have used this TV every day for the past two months and we still love it. Pandora is great for Christmas music while we decorate and wrap gifts. Internet applications work very well and still no comments (good or bad) on the sound quality. We remain very pleased with our purchase and I will definitely buy this TV again.

I bought this TV specifically for the Netflix app that allowed me to stream live videos on TV instead of watching them on my computer. This product can be compared with other brands that I had researched the $ 850 - $ 1,000 price range. The picture quality is fantastic! It was very easy to install and connect to my wireless router. And in no time I was watching a movie and build my watch directly to Netflix queue. Some of the other reviews mentioned a high pitched whine when the unit is turned off. It must have been treated by the Vizio, because I can put my ear to things, and no sound is there. I love Yahoo Widgets programming and TV Guide app is very handy. Even with the Pandora Internet radio app that needs to XM / Sirrius especially when played through a surround or stereo. By the way, is remote as advanced as the device itself. I have my TV hooked to my Pioneer stereo receiver and was surprised when you watch a music DVD as when I left my remote control on top of the stereo cabinet and returned a few minutes later it had "recognized" my receiver, and after that when I raise or lower the volume on the TV speakers to my stereo speakers raised or lowered accordingly. Can not wait to see what more you can do!

I was looking for a secondary display for use with my HTPC to use at the breakfast table when I do not want to turn on the big plasma and thought it might be interesting because it's LED-backlit (edgelit really) and had Netflix and a few other widgets.

It turns out to be really cool ... good image quality - not as much contrast as a much more expensive, larger TV, of course, but fine for casual TV watching, good colors and viewing angles. The Netflix support works very well, stream HD over wireless without problems, apparently the same quality as my Roku HD box - it is alone worth buying it for.

Some of the Widgets are pretty worthless (I look at you, CBS), they are basically just along the canals, and I have not found the news that more than two lines long. It would be nice if there was a browser or a dedicated NY Times about.

The sound quality is not bad for a TV ... You would get better sound add some cheap computer speakers with a subwoofer, but I can not really blame the TV, it is so thin that it is not really room for decent speakers.

All in all. A nice toy, perfect for a dorm or kitchen

We've only had this TV for a week, but we love this TV. It replaced an old TV in a bedroom, which required a digital converter box. We hooked it up to a rabbit ears antenna, and followed the simple instructions on the screen to connect to our wireless home network. We live in a metropolitan area and with only a rabbit ears, we get a good picture. Apart from that the picture is one thing we especially appreciate the automatic sound set function level control that probably all Vizio TVs come with. It will stop advertising from blasting us. We have not used Web Apps yet, but we would already recommend this TV to anyone for a bedroom or office.

My Sony Wega expired a few weeks ago, so when it came time to look for my new TV I was looking for the latest in TV technology. LED LCD was the answer I always got from the seller and friends. Having been witness to (and / or previously owned) Sony SXRD, Sony LCD, Samsung DLP and Samsung plasma TVs I agree that LED LCD offers the best PQ I've ever seen. The only concern is cost effective. It's part of what made the product appealing.

Although Vizio product is at the bottom of the price spectrum, not to be confused with low cost, low quality, this TV just fine. The initial boot setup is quick and easy. The wireless connection works very well as I have been able to use Netflix instant streaming without complications and a much stronger link than ping streaming via an Xbox360. There are some forty other widgets available: Pandora, Rhapsody, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Fantasy Football, etc. So if you love to be "connected" this TV will be right up your alley.

I am more than happy with this purchase. I highly recommend this product.

Great TV at a great price. I bought it at Sams Club for $ 598th I bought it to watch movies and TV shows in my garden, because it requires no cable connections, streaming TV shows and movies. I also use it as a PC monitor with my Mac. USB jack does not work yet, but according to some estimates, they will be operational by the end of this year with a firmware update. I like everything about this TV. It's the best I ever owned. Netflix, Vudu, Amazon VOD work without a glitch. It has a Bluetooth connection to a remote and headset.

I do not understand the other reviewers who could not watch Netflix on it. It works well with this TV, but you need a subscription to Netflix in order to use it. Vudu movie power in different resolution and you pay per movie. Again, you must register online with your credit card to use it.

When I read some of the other reviews here and elsewhere, I see that their expectations for this TV was a bit unrealistic when it comes to using it as a PC monitor. Before I bought it from Sam's for $ 698 (contract is off now but will probably be back for Christmas), I researched it completely. Web Apps right now is OK, but more to come, will be exciting in the future by automatically downloading firmware updates. I was told by Vizio that eventually it will probably be Wi-Fi what is on the computer screen to TV. But as for now I am very happy with picture quality and size of this TV, as I see it 10-15 feet away. As another said, it's not too big and not too small. When I watch HD Theater channel travel / nature shows that the image quality is close to a Blue Ray quality, IMO.

Oh, the lower the amount of heat coming out, and less electricity than my 2 1 / 2 year old Sony Bravia S Series KDL-32S3000 32-inch 720p LCD HDTV that went bad, good buying advantage! Sony wanted me to take this TV to an authorized Sony service facility and pay $ 50 to find out why the picture went out with no guarantee that they would pay for parts and / or work to fix it. I thought it was throwing good money after bad $ 900 that I had paid for television. So on my new 37 inch Vizio I bought Sam's 3 extra year extended warranty for $ 79.96, after reading the "fine print". No extended warranty is perfect, but Sam was the least offensive, IMO.

From all of my research in late July, is this TV is only available from [...]. I left a review on their website in relation to the TV's performance. I ordered the TV from Dell and they gave me "day" shipping and surprisingly I got it the next day in San Diego. Excellent pictures and interfaces. Quickly get Netflix programs or movies, is the Facebook application quickly and you can drag your photo galleries. Pandora sounds perfect. We have a cable coming from the TV and it is to the wall, everything else is wireless. Configure WiFi was easy and Vizio interface is a breeze. I am very happy with your purchase. I would also buy the 4-year extended service contract, and when. I have a Motorola Droid X and I am just waiting for the mini-HDMI cable so I can see my phone contents on TV.
